All the wood I use comes from urban trees. They get cut down due to damage, disease or circumstance. I collaborate with tree surgeons to make use of these trees. Otherwise they would be chipped or turned into firewood.

Carvorama and the Complementary Craft Community
Last weekend Derek Brabender and I travelled to Princeton, Minnesota for Carvorama. Organised by Yuri Moldenhauer it's a fun get-together for green woodworkers. Coming in from Madison, WI, about a five-hour drive, I'd guess we were from the furthest away. It's at a great time of year for an event like this, probably the first of the year. In the Midwest at least.

8 Essential Stretches for Woodworkers
Stretching is so important for maintaining a good range of motion. When you stretch, make sure you stretch just until you feel tightness. None of these stretches should hurt. If you do feel pain, talk to a medical professional.
